Meet Dustin and Jessica Queen. They were married on May 14, 2011, and are the proud parents of two children, Judah and Tate. Both Dustin and Jessica are natives of the Blue Ridge area and graduates of Fannin County High School.
Jessica earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Georgia in 2016 and currently serves as a Labor & Delivery Nurse at Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton, Georgia. Dustin earned his Bachelor of Business Administration with majors in Finance and Management from Kennesaw State University in 2009. After graduating, he returned home to work in his family’s business, Abernathy’s Furniture, Mattress & Appliance, where he now serves as the majority owner and General Manager.
In 2008, just before finishing college, Dustin sensed God leading him to begin serving in the youth ministry at Lebanon Baptist Church in Epworth, Georgia, where he had attended most of his life. After serving there from 2008 to 2012, Dustin and Jessica—newly married at the time—felt God leading them to serve at Hemptown Baptist Church in whatever capacity was needed.
After initially serving in the Children’s Ministry, God began opening doors for Dustin to work alongside the church Treasurer in administrative ministry. Through this season, God clarified His calling on Dustin’s life. In early 2014, the church officially recognized that calling and appointed him as Treasurer. Over a decade later, in January 2026, Dustin was named Executive Pastor, a role in which he continues to serve faithfully.
Dustin is passionate about serving Christ and His church by overseeing the church’s resources and operations with biblical faithfulness and humility, ensuring that all things are done for the glory of God and the good of His people. He also desires to help others understand how to steward God’s blessings well in their personal lives, so that Christ remains the center of all they do.
